Who we are
Intersafety Industrial Protection Ltd is responsible for the customer personal information described in this notice. Our company number is 04405459. Contact us at Sales@intersafety.co.uk, telephone 01625 858008, or write to Adlington Industrial Estate, Macclesfield, Cheshire, England, SK10 4NL.
This notice covers enquiries, purchases, customer accounts, garment personalisation and use of our website and Trade Portal.
Information we use and where it comes from
Depending on your dealings with us, we use your name, organisation, contact details, billing and delivery addresses, order and account records, payment status, correspondence and any names or other personal information supplied for garment personalisation.
We obtain information directly from you when you enquire, order or contact us. For business orders, an employer or authorised account contact may provide information about the people ordering or receiving garments. Payment providers and carriers may provide transaction and delivery updates.
We use Google Analytics and advertising technologies from Google Ads and Meta. Depending on their settings and your choices, these can collect online identifiers, device/browser details and information about page visits, interactions and advertising responses. We also hold contact details, marketing preferences and records needed to manage email marketing.
For trade-account applications, we obtain business credit information from Creditsafe. Reports may contain personal information about relevant business owners, directors or other individuals connected with the applicant, where included in the report.
Please give us only the personal information needed for your order. Avoid including health information or other sensitive details in artwork or general order notes. If information of that kind is needed for a separately agreed service, we will explain its handling separately.
Why we use information
We use personal information for these purposes and legal bases:
- To answer your request and fulfil a contract with you, including processing orders, personalisation, payment and delivery: taking steps at your request before a contract and performing the contract.
- To administer a business customer's account and communicate with its employees or other contacts: our legitimate interests in fulfilling business orders and managing customer relationships, taking account of the individuals' rights.
- To assess trade-account applications using Creditsafe information: our legitimate interests in assessing credit risk and managing responsible business lending terms.
- To maintain required accounting and tax records and respond to lawful requests: compliance with legal obligations.
- To investigate complaints, protect systems, prevent fraud and establish or defend legal claims: our legitimate interests in operating securely and resolving disputes, or a legal obligation where applicable.
- To understand website use and measure advertising: consent where required for the relevant technologies and associated processing. Any reliance on an exception must be identified and justified before use.
- To send email marketing: consent where required, or our legitimate interests where the law permits marketing without consent and its conditions are met.
Where requested information is necessary to process an order, make delivery or comply with the law, not providing it may prevent us from providing that service.
Email marketing
We use Mailchimp to send email marketing about our products and services. You can unsubscribe using the link in a marketing email or by contacting Sales@intersafety.co.uk. Withdrawing marketing permission does not stop essential messages about an order or account.
For individuals, including sole traders and certain partnerships, we seek consent unless the existing-customer exception applies. That exception requires us to have obtained the details directly during a sale or negotiations, market our own similar products or services, and provide a clear opportunity to opt out when details are collected and in each subsequent message.
Where business-to-business email marketing is permitted without consent, we still respect objections and provide a way to unsubscribe. We may retain limited suppression details so that we do not contact you again against your wishes.
Storage and sharing
Our customer and order records are held in Profit4. Operating orders, the website and marketing also involves relevant information being handled by the providers described here; storage in Profit4 does not mean that every part of the transaction stays within that system.
Dojo processes website card payments. Its privacy notice is at https://dojo.tech/legal/privacy/. We use transaction information needed to reconcile payments and administer orders.
Information needed to deliver your goods is shared with the relevant delivery provider. Technical providers supporting Profit4 and our website may handle information when providing those services. We may also disclose information to professional advisers, insurers, regulators or authorities where necessary and lawful for their functions.
Google handles data associated with Google Analytics. Information about its partner-site services is available at https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites. We use Mailchimp for email marketing, and Google Ads and Meta for advertising. These providers handle the information needed for their respective activities, subject to the settings and permissions in use.
Creditsafe provides information used to assess trade-account applications. Its privacy notices are available at https://www.creditsafe.com/cs/en/governance/governance/global-privacy-policies.html. We do not represent that every report includes personal credit history or that an application necessarily leaves a consumer credit-search footprint.
We do not pass personal information to external decorators.
International processing
For an overseas delivery, relevant recipient and shipment details must be supplied to the delivery and customs organisations involved in that shipment. We will provide any additional information required about those arrangements.
How long we keep information
We retain information only for as long as needed for the relevant purpose. In deciding this, we consider the period needed to fulfil an order, manage an active account, handle returns or disputes, comply with accounting and other legal obligations, and establish or defend legal claims.
Artwork containing personal information should be retained for repeat orders only while there is a continuing, justified need. Records no longer required should be securely deleted or anonymised.
Cookies and similar technologies
We use Google Analytics and advertising technologies from Google Ads and Meta, alongside technologies needed for website functions such as shopping and account access. Analytics helps us understand website use; advertising technologies help measure and, where configured and permitted, personalise advertising.
Technologies requiring consent must not operate before you consent. You must be able to reject or withdraw consent as easily as giving it. Where a lawful exception is used, its conditions and any required information and objection mechanism must be satisfied.
Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, you can ask to access or correct your information, erase it, restrict its use or receive eligible information in a portable form. Where processing depends on consent, you can withdraw that consent without affecting earlier lawful processing.
You have the right to object to processing based on legitimate interests. You also have an unconditional right to object to use of your personal information for direct marketing.
Contact Sales@intersafety.co.uk to exercise your rights. We may need proportionate information to verify your identity. We will respond within the applicable legal timeframe, usually one month, and explain if a lawful extension or exception applies.
Privacy complaints and updates
You can raise a data-protection complaint by emailing Sales@intersafety.co.uk, calling 01625 858008 or writing to our address above. Explain what happened and the outcome you seek. We will acknowledge your complaint within 30 days, investigate without undue delay, keep you appropriately informed and explain the outcome.
You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at https://ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint/ or by calling 0303 123 1113.
We will update this notice when our practices change and provide additional information where required. The published notice should display its effective date.
